Shawn is our economics expert, among other things. See below:
Following graduation with a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Florida in 2000, and practicing as a licensed LA in Orlando (primarily in new urbanist-style town planning across the Caribbean and the Southeast), my wife and I recently moved to D.C. While she is acquiring a master's degree in Art History (Renaissance/Baroque), I have a master's degree in Economics from George Mason University, and have received a fellowship through the Mercatus Center.
I've been married for just over 3 years, as of may '09, and would hesitatingly recommend the institution to someone...with some caveats. I'll be primarily writing on an economic way of viewing the world, with an often contrarian viewpoint. I love technology, innovation, and creativity, as I believe they will be some of the driving factors that move people out of poverty in the coming years, and sometimes I'm on the verge of being an anarchist. I've blogged for many years, but got bored with the situation a while ago, so this is something of a re-entry.
