Walter Payton

The greatest running back in the history of football died ten years ago. Men want to live like Walter played.

I won't quibble with you re: ranking running backs. I did/do love Sweetness. He was my first favorite athlete.

brings a tear to the eye. Why do the good guys go so young? Sweetness dies a young man but lawrence Taylor is still alive, seems unfair

nickg, you are a wise man. Matt, I'm a fan of LT the football player (note: the real LT, not the SD RB), but Walter was more than a football player.

Dude some of those pictures of Payton jumping over the goal line are awesome. I just wonder what would have happened if Barry Sanders would not have retired so early. That guy was closing in on the record and he played for the lions his entire career.
