Kanye West is awesome. His outburst at the VMA's was hilarious. Seriously, how could a country video win that category anyway (joking).

Too bad Kanye's not a preacher. America could use some non-word-mincing prophetic voices for a change.
It so cool how Kanye gets to say weird stuff, ask for an apology on a talk show (Jay Leno), and it will have NO affect on his record sales or public image. He's creating a brand by saying unpredictable things that will make him even more money in the end.
Look at how much free press he's getting because of this. It's a brilliant branding strategy.

Kanye west really is a jackass. You miss the point if you focus on the sales of his albums. Why would you or anyone else believe that Kanye's actions were meritorious? He stormed the stage, stole the microphone from an 18 yr old girl, and essentially told her and America (to her face) that she didn't deserve the award.
It really is common sense that, no matter the truth of his claims, the way he voiced his opinion was grossly inappropriate. The substance here (which video subjectively should have won the award) was greatly outweighed by the procedure (courtesy is understating the concept).
I am sorry to see you validate and commend Kanye for yet another rude and public tantrum. And I am dissappointed that your reasoning for doing so is that Kanye is a "non-word mincing" and "prophetic" individual.
I didn't realize the MVA award for best female video reached to those levels of importance for you.

Kanye West gets no respect precisely because his outbursts are juvenile and he has no strategy. There's no way this helps him make money; I'd guess his sales are unaffected. If he actually had something to say, like Jim Brown for example, it'd probably cost him money.
Hahaha...
I thought the same thing. He's an entertainer, no one expects anything from him (not even common courtesy), so he won't be affected at all. Sales will continue to increase or decrease as they would have without the event, and this will just be a minor blip on an otherwise blipless life.
