I watched the Cardinals beat the Padres last night 4-3. My wallet, somehow, decided to stay at the stadium. If anyone found it please drop me a line: abradley@acton.org. Please, thanks!
ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Jake Peavy hopes he gave up four homers in a game for the last time. His manager is sure of it.Posted by anthony at July 18, 2008 12:06 AM | TrackBackTroy Glaus homered twice and Rick Ankiel and Joe Mather added solo shots of their own to help the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Padres 4-3 Thursday night.
Cards Four-Homer Facts
• The Cardinals scored all four of their runs on solo homers.
• The only other time in the last 50 years that four solo homers accounted for all of St. Louis' runs was a 7-4 loss to the Astros on April 14, 2001.
• The starting pitcher that night for the Cards was Rick Ankiel, who happened to leave the yard Thursday for the Cards.

"I'm going to go on the record and say that'll never happen again in Jake's career," Padres manager Bud Black said. "Normally, I tell my pitchers solos don't beat you, but tonight they did."
The Cardinals never even had a runner in scoring position.
We REALLY needed that win tonight. I hate that it may have been costly for you, however.

Posted by: Sean at July 18, 2008 12:01 PMDid I read that right, Rick Ankiel was our starting pitcher? Have we become that desperate for pitchers? I think we've all heard that Ankiel holds the record for wild pitches, which he set whilst a Cards rookie...
Glad you made it to a Cards game Anthony.
Never mind, it was Lohse.
