Rev. Michael Pfleger On White Entitlement, Reparations, and Hillary Clinton

In this short clip, Rev. Pfleger comments here about how the descendants of white supremacists, racists, and slaver owners should own their connection. Father Pfleger also references the phenomenon of white entitlement that reigns among whites today, and why Hillary was so shocked when Obama showed up.

This is the clip that had Obama resign his church membership.

Thoughts, fellas?

don't see, and never have seen the big deal with his or Wright's statements. much ado about...

Based on this clip, I find Pfleger immature and childish. And certainly no helper in the call to bring the hope of Christ.

Although, I do have to say that given the general attitude of elitism and prejudice typically seen in Democrat policies, I wouldn't be surprised if Hillary truly was surprised by Obama's challenge. But that has nothing to do with her being white or the descendant of anyone; that has far more to do with a system of party politics that sees minorities as people who must be helped by government programs and quotas because they cannot succeed on their own.

I could agree that it has to do with "a system of party politics that sees minorities as people who must be helped by government programs and quotas because they cannot succeed on their own." I can definitely agree with that.

And, the system was set up by White men who preached and believed that: "The Black man has no rights by which the White man is bound to respect" (Chief Justice Roger B. Taney)

So, the sense of entitlement is real. 78% of our readers believed that if a White man had the lead Obama had the primary would have never taken that long...Party leaders would have united behind him much sooner.

As for calling people to the hope of Christ: was that the point of Whites forbidding slaves from reading the Holy Bible, preferring only to preach the passage, "slaves be obedient to your masters." Was that why slaves who decided to pray at times other than those authorized by their master were beaten and killed? Was that why slaves had to hold prayer meetings in secret?

True, our Lord brought hope. And, He brought it with a sword. Remember, He said: "Think not that I come in peace. I come not in peace, but with a sword." He brought a message of reconciliation. And, that reconciliation was realized first by putting people at variance against each other so that the ways that were against the laws of God would be uprooted.

Truly, we all need reparations! Get Yours!

Mr. Reparations,

Thanks for making everything so clear, and bringing up a # of discontinuous points and random historical facts along w/ a touch of mere racists political speculation and tying it all in with some Godly dribble that ends with a barely sensical statement.
I cant wait to "get mine".

WOW - I thought it was me. Clear as mud.

Hmmm...given Obama's parentage, it is likely that HE is a "descendant[] of white supremacists, racists, and slaver owners." Uh, oh! Did he really say that? Yep. But that's beside the point.

Honestly, i don't see what was so offensive about Pfleger's comments. He was right about Hillary's entitlement mentality. Not so much because she's white (although she did exploit racial animosity to her advantage in WV and KY), but because she prostituted herself during her husband's dalliances in the Oval office by defending him and feigning ignorance, which she believes now entitles her to that same office. She perceives herself as more of a victim than Obama, and thus, her greater victimization entitles her to the Presidency. But Obama refused to "wait his turn." (Given that the 15th Amendment preceded the 19th Amendment, i don't know why Hillary didn't wait her turn...but i digress). And Hillary was deeply offended by Obama's audacity (pun intended). "The nerve of this little..." It was as if Obama was dismissing all that she went through. Obama denied Hillary her reparations. And if Hillary needed to exploit race to get her 40 acres and a mule, she was willing to do so. She was ruthless and willing to do whatever it took because for her to lay hold of the power that comes (often unconstitutionally) with the office of President would be vindication for her endurance of Slick Willie's trysts. But now that Obama is the nominee, Hillary has to go back to the Senate. She got nothing out of the Faustian bargain that she struck with her "husband." Hillary is like a silly woman who leaves her husband for her lover on his promise that he too will divorce his spouse; but in the end, he reconciles with his family. Hillary is like a prostitute, who at the end of the night, ends up with an STD and no money left on the dresser.

But more to the point, i think many white folk were offended by Pfleger (and Wright) because of their "black" preaching style. White folk aren't used to ministers yelling, and it makes them uncomfortable.

Its pretty tough to find someone in the community here that wouldn't basically agree with Pfleger. . .

If his point is that Hillary felt entitled due both to her race and place in line . . . then I basically do agree with him even if I disagree with the explicit endorsement from the pulpit. But that is nothing that doesn't happen in white-republican churches under white religio-social mores.

But, not only did this lead to Obama's resignation but Pfleger was removed from his church by the Cardinal for 2 weeks.

Can you find anyone who has served in this type of racially and economically isolated community for 2+ decades and remained committed to the lower income residents who hasn't become a fanatic?

I am white and very offended by Black preaching styles. I have heard Wrights sermons and I was calling my mom soon afterwards.

Next day I was watching tv and I saw this guy named TouchDown Jakes? ANyways, I listened to him and i realized I had wet my pants.

I dont know if its a combo of all these black preaching styles coming into our homes through the media, but I have been sleeping with the lights on and I regularly check under my bed and in my closet before I got to bed.

Stork, could you clarify what you find offensive? Is it the tone, their political stance, views on social justice, etc. I think there is a good discussion in here.

I am concerned with the theology of these men. But because they're making socialogical comments, their theology is rarely being addressed. And when the issue of black theology comes up it's usually the racial high points that are brought and not the other theological short comings, like the denial of the deity of Christ for one example.

Eric Redmon address the connection between word of faith theology, and the so-called black theology paradigm, but dude that's tripping on Jakes, and the "black preaching styles" let me respond to what I think I'm reading, those aren't black preaching styles friend, coming into our homes that's poor theology coming into our homes, but I'm with Chas you need to clarify, because you're making outrageous statements.
