A picture from The CAV Wine Bar in San Fran.
It's Friday, don't stay at home and play bored games (haha) or watch a movie (unless it's raining), GO OUT!!
Here are some of the best bars in America according to Esquire Magazine:
(1) Churchill's Pub--Miami, Florida(2) Skinny Legs--St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands
(3) The Brewer's Art--Baltimore, Maryland(4) The Globe--Athens, Georgia
(5) Brick Store Pub--Decatur, Georgia(6) Ernestine and Hazel's--Memphis, Tennessee
(7) Pinkie Master's Lounge--Savannah, Georgia
And NO SURPRISE only one of them is listed in St. Louis. The Kansas City area (MO & KS) has THREE. One day St. Louis will be a real city. Necesitamos mas boriquas, Cubanos, Dominicanos, y Guatematecos.!!
Few the complete list here. Find your state. Enjoy your weekend!
A friend of mine and I have been in an on-going dialog over the past few years about just how boring the social lives are of many "religious types" as many people perceive it. One would expect that those who know the end of the story would be the most liveliest group of people on the planet. "So what do you guys wanna do?" "I dunno, let's stay in the house where it's safe, play Pictionary, or watch a movie. What else is there to do?"
When I was growing up, I remember, since everybody had kids and all, church friends would rotate the house parties--it was like a bar or lounge, but at our house. The cars would be lined up, up and down the street. My neighbors, the Woods', they had parties a lot too. I mean a lot. (With kids and a dog.) I used to love to wake up in the morning and eat the left over food!! Even kids didn't stop people.
I've been chillin' at Sasha's Wine Bar in Clayton, MO a lot lately!!
Stork, I just pitched you a softball.
Posted by anthony at June 6, 2008 08:54 AM | TrackBackAh yes. . . the beauty of a local pub. . . unfortunately between our Mayor's position against local taverns and smoking in public, the 15 year old tradition we have with local friends called "Duke Night" (in which we meet for a good beer, a great cigar, and some loose theological and political conjecture) is nearly defunct.
We had to move it to Chief O'neill's - a truly great pub here in Chicago except for being on the northside and being forced to go outside for that cigar. . .
Hey Aaron, how about a Smithwicks???!!
