Clinton, Call It Quits: You're Spliting Your Party and Wasting Money

clinton indiana.jpg

(CNN) -- Sen. Hillary Clinton will narrowly win in Indiana, CNN projects, edging out Sen. Barack Obama by a 2-percent margin.

There were 115 delegates at stake in North Carolina and 72 in Indiana.

With 99 percent of precincts reporting, Obama held a 14-point lead over Clinton.

"Some were saying that North Carolina would be a game-changer in this election. But today, what North Carolina decided is that the only game that needs changing is the one in Washington," Obama told supporters in Raleigh, North Carolina. Video Watch Obama thank his supporters »

Obama took an overwhelming 91 percent of the black vote in North Carolina, according to exit polls, while Clinton claimed only 6 percent.

Clinton took 59 percent of the white vote compared to 36 percent for Obama, according to the polls.

Hmmm, seems like blacks have (rightly) completely abandoned the Clinton's. I still can't believe that there are black democrats that actually support the Clinton's. For what reasons? It doesn't make any sense.

Ok, here's the question? Why won't she quit? Why? Why? Why?

Ant,
Great point about "Billary" dividing the party and wasting money!

Just give up and let O'bama do his thing. As a person who votes based upon the person and not their party affiliation I hate that the division she is causing will ultimately lead to folks jumping ship who normally lean left to go with McCain not because they are somehow leaning right but rather because "Billary" has demonized the other candidate.

Disgusted with the whole process bro!

Holla!

.. she is staying in the race to keep herself busy otherwise she has to go home to Bill... and you know the old saying... Two's company - Three's a crowd !

I think she can't believe that her machine is in fact losing--and she's also probably holding out hope that the things being said by Rev. Wright and Mrs. Obama (as well as Sen. Obama) will eventually convince the superdelegates that Obama is a nonstarter nationally.

No good things are happening with race from this, BTW. 80% of whites for Clinton, 91% of blacks for Obama--it would seem to speak to a very strong "difference of opinion" at least.

I don't really know why you say "I still can't believe that there are black democrats that actually support the Clinton's." If they are so bad, why would anyone support them? Shouldn't race be negligible in voting trends? As for why she's still running...why not? She's not going to go bankrupt lending her campaign money and she is still relatively even. Neither of these candidates is running for the party, they are running for themselves. Otherwise they would have ended this fight months ago when McCain won.
