I feel like there was a bit of a herd mentality...once people started going OT, everybody did. There were some choices that were reaches for the first round.
The Steelers really needed a OL/DL guy, but when Mendenhall fell to them, they did the right thing.
Posted by: Chris at April 30, 2008 12:04 PMI was happy to see that Atlanta chose Matt Ryan and are moving on from hopes that Vick will even be back. Vick wasn't a good NFL quarterback any way. He was much more suited for the college game.
Posted by: Anthony at April 30, 2008 01:27 PMAs a Cowboys fan, I thought their draft was good, but certainly not great.
Jenkins is a good CB, taken at 25th, but I'm not a fan of using a 1st round pick on a back up player, even a running back (22nd - Felix Jones). Had Mendenhall already been taken, perhaps I could see it, but he's an "every down" back, not merely a "change of pace" back.
Martellus Bennett at TE from Texas A&M was a good pick up in the next round, however.
Posted by: GUNNY HARTMAN at April 30, 2008 01:49 PMI was stoked to see St. Louis pickup Chris Long, he is a great fit for the team (and it definitely reflects the coaching philosophy). But I was definitely disappointed to see us (yet again) neglecting the O-Line. I guess we'll just keep hanging Jackson and Bolger (who has no confidence in his line anymore) out to dry.

Yeah, I'm glad the Steelers took the best player and did not reach for an O-lineman, but we really need guys like Starks, Essex, Kemateau and Colon to step up next year. We haven't been doing a good job of drafting O-lineman lately.
