"Real Men" Piss Against The Wall Says Preacher

Fellas, this is less than 5 minutes but you gotta here this.

A real man "pisses standing up" not sitting down like a woman. This is where America is headed as well those so-called men who read the NIV.

DISCLAIMER: I do not agree with a single word of this clip and this pastor is solely responsible for the content.

Fellas, thoughts?

1. Who did he study hermeneutics under?
2. Is he preaching in his basement?
3. Does he own stock in a urinal company?

Posted by: stelmodad at April 14, 2008 03:29 PM

Well I know one thing for sure, something I think you would agree with, and that is I don't want anyone being aggressive with me at the urinal.

This is why the KJV, and Tyndale's translation, are the only REAL translations of the Bible. :^)

(J/K)

OK, I admit that I love Hebraisms. That said, I think this guy's got a real gift for missing the point of that particular one.

Did he say you have to sit down to pee in Germany??
Darn you Hasselhoff!!!!

Seriously though this dude is needing to slow down on the Red Bull Intake....

Did anyone catch his FCF?

I wonder what he thinks about the ESV.

I have to admire the conviction with which he misses the point so dramatically.

Wow, at least the homeletical rain flows through his conclusion. My sons read the NIV and they piss on the bushes in front of our house so I guess they're ok.

Matt, brilliant!

Posted by: Jeff Kerr at April 14, 2008 05:50 PM

I piss in the shower. Anyone have a laminated Bible (preferably not NIV)?

Posted by: Guy Incognito at April 14, 2008 11:33 PM

I'm shocked but not surprised, dumbfounded and unable to diagnose apart from the lamentable ignorance historically, culturally, etc. This is my first post. (Time limits attention to blogs, but I'm beginning to dabble.)

"Well I know one thing for sure, something I think you would agree with, and that is I don't want anyone being aggressive with me at the urinal."

Hahaha.

I was waiting for a turn around demonstration to prove he was a man. Glad I didn't see it.

Posted by: jason at April 15, 2008 12:33 PM

That wouldn't have been against the wall, though.

Anyone ever heard the John Wayne joke about looking for urinals with privacy sidewalls?

Posted by: Bike Bubba at April 15, 2008 02:13 PM

I love it!
I am watching this and thinking... whats the point or where is he going with this... and BAM! he says, We got to many men sitting down to "pisseth" and.... "THAT'S WHATS WRONG WITH AMERICA!"

i would have guessed a few other things first..

Seriously... I hate KJ only honks. Its so funny how their idol, literal idol, is the KJ bible!

Posted by: Stork at April 15, 2008 02:19 PM

well, i am glad you don't agree, because early in the morning when i can barely walk - i sit down -

unless i jump straight in the shower, in which case - well - just don't tell my wife.

Posted by: jared at April 15, 2008 02:59 PM

He sounds like most KJVO guys, pissed off! Pardon the pun,I had to go there.

Posted by: DonaldH at April 15, 2008 08:24 PM

Is it just me, or does that guy look like Jack from Lost?

Posted by: Jeff Kerr at April 15, 2008 09:08 PM

I think it is Jack, and these sermons are special information for understanding Lost.

Anthony, It's funny that you say that you 'do not agree with a single word of this clip' because when i first watched it a couple of months ago, I actually thought of you and Mark Driscoll. Maybe i have just been misunderstanding your whole 'real men listen to heavy metal' thing (I am thinking particularly here of your post on folk music in churches and his video in DC that provided a nice throw back to the mid-90's grunge days of Pearl Jam-- really, is that the freshest thing the church has to offer?). Anyway, thought that you would be interested to know that my crazy mind made that association.

Posted by: Wells at April 16, 2008 04:41 AM

Wells? Huh? Did you actually listen to the content? Real men listen to heavy metal? Dude, what are you talking about? Heavy metal? Why do I have a picture of Earth, Wind, and Fire on this blog? I'm not tracking with you at all. What are you talking about? Are you sure you've got the right person? Heavy metal? What?????????????????????????

Posted by: Anthony at April 16, 2008 08:19 AM

You mean that's not Iron Maiden, Anthony? Guess it's beyond time for me to get a new monitor or clean my glasses. :^)

According to Strong’s the intent of the idiom (rather than the “idiot” in the pulpit) is a way to say “males.” That appears to be it. Stretching that to say that God declares that a male urinating while seated is effeminate appears to be way beyond reason. Once again we have the problem with translating Scripture from the original languages along with the loss of context when it is transplanted into another culture.

By the way – all the German guys I lived with in Afghanistan pissed standing up into urinals – that included the chaplains. Maybe they were rebelling against their “feminized” society, but they didn’t appear to have any problems with it. Stating that “no one in Germany pisses standing up” is pure hyperbole.

Does this nutcase have a congregation, or did he break into a church on a weeknight with his camcorder in order to play out his delusion that he has been called to preach in the name of Christ?

You Tube proves the dictum that the more accessible the means of communication are, the lower the quality of the content of those communications will be. Back before printing presses only very important items were written – Scripture, laws & history, for the most part. With the advent of the printing press came publishing for entertainment purposes, and the overall quality of published works began to be degraded. With the internet the masses of morons now have many easily-accessible fora in which their stupidity can flourish. Every technological advancement is a two-edged sword.

and, dirk, at least some of us get more discerning in what we believe/see...the positives far outweigh the negatives.

i know you're not harping on that, but I'm so frustrated at (especially christians) wanting to bury their heads in the sand and wish for the "good old days"...
