Posted by: Jason E. Cochran at April 6, 2008 04:37 PMWe'll see, Jason. I don't really have a horse in this race and I know very little about NCAA basketball.
But I still think it's going to be Memphis.
ACC or A-She-She?
Posted by: Justin McGuire at April 6, 2008 11:16 PMQuick Jeff, name one player for Memphis's team?
Didn't think so. I think they've got it too, though. I just hate that a C-USA team is heading for a national championship. I think that a couple of JV teams could do pretty well in that conference.
Justin, obviously your sports views are severely skewed. How'd South Carolina do this year?
Sorry for the acerbic tone. I'm just sad to see my boys go out in a final blaze of [whatever the opposite of glory is]. Sigh...
Posted by: Todd Gwennap at April 6, 2008 11:59 PMJustin, you're kidding right? Did the chicken gamecocks even make it to the NIT? Do they have a basketball team?
Posted by: Anthony at April 7, 2008 08:03 AMTodd,
In the sport that people care about, Carolina did just fine against UNC.
Anthony,
No, we didn't make it to the NIT (after winning it a few times in a row). That's what we get for hiring a washed up A-She-She coach to run the program. And yes, we do have a basketball team that is now coached by Darrin Horn (of recent Western Kentucky fame) who led his team several rounds further into the tournament than Ollie Purnell led his. How'd that one-and-done sit with you, especially at the hands of mighty Villanova?
Justin, you guys didn't even make it to the NIT and you're asking about our loss AT THE tournament? It sat fine with me. How'd the chickencocks not making it the NCAA tournament again, sit with you?
