Frustrating

From the BBC:

Hillary Clinton has revived her campaign for the US presidency with projected primary election wins in three states. US media say she has taken the Democratic primary polls in Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island. The results of caucus meetings in Texas are not yet known.

Why didn't Obama win Texas and Ohio? Thoughts?

Texas: They've been talking a ton about how Hilary will likely carry the majority of the Latino vote because they remember "the good ole days" under Bill.

RI: No idea.

In general, there's been a lot of talk about Hilary's smear campaign against Obama doing some damage, and Obama hasn't been responding in kind. Maybe it's backfiring?

Maybe it is backfiring. I was pretty sure that she was done though. Oh well. . .

this might seem a bit too far out, but perhaps a pendulum swing the other way is happening...note the past two weeks of saturday night live in which the media obsession about obama has been mocked and clinton has been praised. she even appeared on the show this past week. she seems to be taking a page out of huckabee's playbook, she was on the daily show monday night. generally i wouldn't think anything on saturday night live would be all that culturally earth shattering but it has had pretty high rating the past two weeks.

hmm, john, good point.

Maybe voters noticed when he left the room when reporters finally started asking a few tough questions instead of sighing appreciatively as he talked about "change"?

Talk radio is also suggesting that a lot of people crossed party lines to keep Obama & Clinton spending their money attacking each other.

Personally, I'll be happy to vote against either one of them in November. I like Obama as a person, but detest his politics. Hillary...well, Momma told me that if I didn't have anything nice to say....

Anthony,
In your opinion, "is Obama worth voting for"?
I struggle with the issue of abortion, even though otherwise i would lean democratic.
Thoughts?

I think it might be, as Bike Bubba pointed out, that people are noticing that Obama's rhetoric is lofty and unsubstantive, whereas Hillary's is nothing if not substantive. That doesn't necessraily sit well with Texans or Midwesterners, in my experience.

Two reasons:
1. Latino Vote
2. The Press is killing Obama. The bias towards Obama is hurting him rather than helping hi. Obama doesn't need the press' help to win the democratic nomination. The more Hilary wins after the Press predicts her demise the more momentum she gets. Everyone roots and wants the underdog to win (NY and New England).
