It's always fun to see comments about me on the internet! This is from our Southern Reformed friends over at Spirit, Water, Blood.
If it’s okay for Michelle Obama to write a doctoral thesis on her "blackness" then I should have a long career in academia. This reminds me of the PCA’s resident Negro, Anthony Bradley, who has made Thomas Sowell the subject of his doctoral dissertation. Real heavy stuff there. Here he is front and center at this year’s PCA conference. I wonder if he ever fulfilled his wish of moving to where the White girls dance with Negroes in the nightclubs. But we have to give Bradley his due. In this Fox News piece, he asks a very good question: "If Barack Obama has really submitted himself to his church like he’s claimed, why does he have a different expression of faith from his own pastor?"
The "resident Negro, Anthony Bradley?" Really?
Here's more.
Hmmm. . .
Posted by anthony at March 4, 2008 02:13 PM | TrackBackAnthony, I know this is no new thing for you, but that doesn't make it any less sad/infuriating when it surfaces.
Though I am both from the south and reformed, I am embarrassed and saddened to be associated with this behavior. Maybe this means I'm not t.r.
Posted by: Stephen at March 4, 2008 03:13 PMI'd like to see some of those Southern Reformed guys read and understand "Knowledge and Decisions," let alone write something so insightful. They are probably still struggling with the first chapters of "Black Rednecks and White Liberals." Poor souls with hopelessly "Constrained Visions," maybe someone could teach them some "Basic Economics" so they can catch the "Vision of the Anointed" and further their "Quest for Cosmic Justice."
Okay, time for me to stop playing Kevin Spacey with my bookshelf...
Nathanael Snow
"Reformed" my ass... I seriously thought this was a spoof at first.
I'm sorry, man. I am neither churched nor from the south, so this kind of ludicrousness is new to me.
Hehe... I've heard Driscoll say that you're doing the right thing when "the guy in the suit and the guy in the dress" are attacking you. You should add "the guy in the white hood" to that list...

You are really full of yourself, aren't you?!
What happened to the humble little guy we once knew?
Posted by: Wondering at March 4, 2008 05:07 PMStephen, haha, you're probably not a lot of things according to this guys.
Posted by: Anthony at March 4, 2008 05:31 PMjuris, that was pretty funny.
Posted by: Anthony at March 4, 2008 05:31 PMSpoof, no bro, it's no spook. It has a long unchallenged history.
Posted by: Anthony at March 4, 2008 05:32 PMThere is all sorts of filth on the internet, and this is just one more example of how it floats to the surface of the web. But at least this one knows your name because you're not the kind of coward who hides behind a pseudonym like "Joseph Whiteman."
The fact that the PCA is even on this scum's radar worries me that he might be hiding in there somewhere.
Posted by: Mark Horne at March 4, 2008 05:39 PMAnthony,
Words escape me in expressing my shock and disgust. To think that such minds are in the PCA is beyond me.
Reminds me of another anonymous blog called "Little Geneva" that is no more. Its specialties were white supremacy and 'kinism.' A year or two ago someone outed the guy who was likely using his employer's computer. Once outed the guy took the website down and erased its history overnight.
Thanks for posting these comments and linking to the website. This helps to see our denomination and the reformed community in a new light.
My advice: wear his criticisms as a badge of honor knowing that the vast majority of folks in our circles are behind you.

Man...
I just don't know what to say. I suppose you really can't say anything to that. My high sense of justice flares up and I start thinkin'... "how do I make this right?" I don't suppose I can do anything (profitable) other than to toss up a prayer that God would humble the proud.
My next response is extreme sadness. I suppose this is one place that pity is a proper emotion. Man, satan has just gotta DIG this stuff.
Anthony, what have you found to be the best way to reply to this? Are you able to simply let it roll off your back?
And to further what Dave said, wear the criticisms as a badge of honor since those men aren't preaching truth.
Posted by: Matt Seilback at March 4, 2008 11:38 PMAnthony... I've never in my life been so appalled by something I've read as the (there are no words in the english language to describe the revolting nature of the writing so i'm leaving this spot blank so other people can fill it in w/ whatever hybrid phrase of connected profanities they find appropriate) on that site. Is that guy affiliated with a Presbyterian denomination? If he is, please tell me he's on church disciple.
Posted by: Jake Meador at March 5, 2008 01:01 AMTheology thesis on Thomas Sowell? Interesting--have you done any posts on how that fits in?
