Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor has died, a day after he was shot in the leg, said family friend Richard Sharpstein. He said Taylor's father called him around 5:30 a.m. to tell him the news. "It's a tremendously sad and unnecessary event," said Sharpstein. "He was a wonderful, humble, talented young man, and had a huge life in front of him. Obviously God had other plans."
Fellas, lots of questions here. What happened? Allegedly he was fighting off the assailant with a machete. Taylor did have some gun-related misdemeanors, several NFL fines for various reasons, and so on. Who knows what's going to come out on this case. Sad, fellas. Just sad.

Posted by: Justin at November 29, 2007 12:06 AMThis is a heartbreaking account. Jim Rome has exhausted this on the radio show. I'm frustrated by the number of calls and emails that speculate before the facts of the investigation are public. I was impressed by the number of African Americans that have been on the program and offered their insights, including Jason Whitlock, Dr. Harry Edwards, Charles Barkley, and Ronde Barber.
I believe the American culture has become insensitive to death and personal tradgedy to the degree that many don't mourn the loss of life, wildfires, or other diasters. The over exposure of the news media has helped hardened the world's heart that unless it strikes that individual they don't feel it. It's a sad day.

Posted by: sean at December 4, 2007 08:12 AMHello i just want to say i hope everyone is ok. And i think that his girl friend set it up. Why? Why would someone shoot only one person and have eye witness. like his girlfriend and his daughter. They could have seen whom it was and got a artist and discride how he look. I no for a fact a murder would not shoot someone and not everyone else so the have no witness. I THINK SHE JUST WANTED HIS MONEY.
