In any event, I'd be curious to get your thoughts on Carter's assessment.

Looks pretty racial on the surface, but it could be simply that kids tend to hang out with others that look like them, no? So you get kids of race X looking for someone they don't know to beat up, and what do you know, the most likely person who they don't know just happens to be race Y.

Which is to say that there's an underlying racial problem that we're not mixing for sure, but perhaps not one of "they beat up this kid 'cause he's white" or whatever.

Either way, I dare suggest that what all these kids need is "Dad." Even if he's in the home, he's not in the picture, I dare say.

The article says that victim knew one of the guys that beat him up--maybe more than one. It could very well be a fight due to an argument or a welsh or anything. I'd hesitate to say this was racial until one of those involves says, "I hate white people." or the victim says, "I harass black people." When the parties involved are different races, racism is often a knee-jerk accusation. Sometimes it's just bad humans.

It's interesting that the news of some white kid getting beat up by a bunch of black kids is making the news NOW, AFTER the Jena 6 case.

Is this racial backlash for the Jena 6 incident? Probably. Or is it just a beef between a group of friends over something non-racial? Probably. Who knows? I sure don't.

IT is funny on how people put a spin on what just happened here, there is always someone making an excuse when another race is caught red handed in a racial crime, everybody knows if this would have been a black kid getting his ass kicked by a bunch of white kids it would have been considered a racial crime , but when the shoe is on the other foot all the excuses come out, for god sakes take ownership, this is racism at its best, racism occurs in all race groups, for god sakes white people are not the only racist out their, just because you are black you are not excused from being a racist, or any other race like I said if the shoe fits wear it, the only way racism can be solved, first notice a problem then try to change, I am sure they are good kids that got some really bad info from the people around them,and in order for change to take place it all starts at home, Parents please stop pushing your views on you children it not healthy.
