The Associated Press Reports on a new study:
One-third of men didn't bother to wash after using the bathroom, compared with 12 percent of women, said the researchers who spy on people in public restrooms. They reported their latest findings Monday at a meeting of infectious disease scientists. Two years ago, the last time the survey was done, only one-quarter of men didn't wash, compared with 10 percent of women.
"Guys need to step up to the sink," said Brian Sansoni, spokesman for the Soap and Detergent Association, which co-sponsors the survey and related education campaigns.
Fellas, I got one word for this dumb study: "daaahhh!!"
Posted by anthony at September 17, 2007 07:57 PM | TrackBackSure people not washing their hands after using the bathroom is an issue that needs to be addressed... but let's get to an even more important topic when it comes to hand washing... We all know it has long been policy for parents to teach their kids to "cover their mouth" with their HANDS... Maybe we shouldn't be teaching our youth to contaminate their hands with germs and virus' and then maybe their adult versions will understand that hand cleanliness is of great importance. Think about it... we teach our youth to deposit their contaminants directly on the instrument of delivery at each touch of a toy, doorknob, etc. Maybe you should begin with teaching our youth to cough and sneeze into their shoulders and biceps ??? I mean... how often do people go and rub their shoulders and biceps all over toys and doorknobs ? Basically this train of though is only promoting the sharing of germs when something as simple as changing their original deposit could prevent millions of infections and colds every year !!!
Posted by: Chance Parrish at September 18, 2007 08:32 AMNot that I adhere to the following advice, but someone once told me that it's a good thing to not wash your hands once and a while after using the facilities. It supposedly helps to build up immunity.
Posted by: Jake at September 18, 2007 08:57 AMif you dont piss on ur hands, why would you need to wash them, besides, i garantee the faucets and flusing mechanisms are much more dirty than ur member or your pants/zipper!
Posted by: todd at September 18, 2007 02:05 PMChance, yeah, passing on germs is the neighborly and generous thing to do! Why keep them to yourself :)!
Posted by: Anthony at September 18, 2007 02:14 PMNot it's not a good idea, it's just an excuse for dirty people! Sounds like a folkstale to me...
This whole immunity thing is bullshit, go to 3rd world countries, few people there wash their hands and the ones who live in slum literally live surrounded by piss and shit.
According to the advocates of the immunity theory, being surrounded by fecal matter and all sorts of germs should make these people supra resistant to disease...
Alas, this is not the case, and everyone with half a brain knows that people in poor countries have lower life expectancies than us, in part because of poor hygiene!
In poor countries, people are subjected to more germs than people in richer countries, but what happens is that people with a weak immune system die off! The people who survive are naturally more resistant. We are not equal in front of disease, despite what these crackpots want us to belive.
A good portion of the adult population in developped countries is comprised of people who would have died in their infancy had they lived in such countries! It is because of practices such as hand washing, which is really basic hygiene, that many of us are alive today!
Bathing yourself in and drinking shit daily won't make you more resistant!
Well, if you want to, that's your problem, but you might get cholera, a disease that nowadays is very rare in countries which practice hand washing, but the advocates of the build-up-your-immunity-by-wallowing-in-your-own-shit (willfuly?) ignore this!
