LAS VEGAS, Nevada (CNN) -- A judge will decide Wednesday if bail will be granted to O.J. Simpson, who faces numerous charges -- and potentially decades in prison -- for what police said is his role in a sports memorabilia heist.Judge Ann Zimmerman was reviewing the paperwork in Simpson's arrest and will determine if there is probable cause to detain him, said Judge Nancy Oesterle, who is briefing media but will not oversee the case.
The Hall of Fame running back was arrested Sunday in Las Vegas, Nevada, on robbery, assault, burglary and conspiracy charges, according to police.
A judge must see the arrested person within 72 hours, either in the courtroom or by video, and Zimmerman does all her arraignments in person, Oesterle said.
Las Vegas Justice Court Chief Judge Douglas Smith put a "no-bail hold" on Simpson, meaning bail is not an option for him before Zimmerman makes her decision.
OJ, come on, dude. Are you kidding me? This guy's got some issues.
Fellas, is he going to jail this time?
Posted by anthony at September 17, 2007 07:52 PM | TrackBackSeeing that evidently they've got the crime on video with cohorts apparently telling him what he's risking, it would seem like getting out of jail this time would be about as difficult as if his bloody footprints and DNA had been found all around a murder scene and his home.

Posted by: Phil M at September 18, 2007 02:01 PMANthony to anser youre question, OJ will get ot of this the same way he got off the last time. By having some black folks on the jurry who will not set quietly while ab unch of racist white folks raleroad and innoncent black man off to prions.
Posted by: Phil M at September 18, 2007 02:05 PMHe's probably going to spend like 30 days in jail or something.
Posted by: Anthony at September 18, 2007 02:16 PMWhat a sad case. Even if he gets off OJ is even worse shape than he was before all of this.I spent a good part of my life whatching him play football doing, commercials et al and thinking what a great guy and role model for black males, who do did not have much hope for themselves. To see all that go down the drain in such a big way is sad. Unfortunately many isolated white folks will look at him once again and say to themselves "see" they (black males) really can't make after all. Tragic. Harry

Oh wait...that was Robert. I guess you've changed your tune, eh dude?

Posted by: Paul at September 19, 2007 07:59 AMNick, pointing to the evidence and suggesting that the defense attorneys have an uphill battle is not equivalent to assuming someone's guilt. One says "man, I'd hate to defend that case," and the other says "hangin's too good for him!" before all the evidence is in. See the difference?
And Phil, I am fully aware that a jury somehow concluded that the one time use of a racial slur by one officer discredited the testimony of dozens of officers, among them many minority officers.
That's one of the nastiest forms of bigotry I can think of; to accuse dozens of people of bigotry based on absolutely no evidence, and in doing so, releasing criminals into your own neighborhoods.
Posted by: Robert Perry at September 19, 2007 12:29 PMThey missed him the first time, he ain't getting away twice. This brother is baked goods, do you hear me? Baked goods. If I was that brother I would have joined the Potter's House and got my ministers licsence. LOl.
Posted by: Lionel Woods at September 23, 2007 01:33 PMThis is one of those situations that seems to bring out the worst in people. It certainly stirs up some bitter feelings, always along the lines of race. We must get to the heart of the matter, namely let's look at the things that are lurking in our hearts!
But I have to quote Cedric the Entertainer's character from Barber Shop I, as he rambled off some things black folk need to understand he got down to one profound statement...OJ did it!
