Posted by anthony at May 15, 2007 08:34 AM | TrackBackI'm jealous. 311 is how I remember the year that Christianity became legal in the Roman Empire. Great band.
Posted by: barlow at May 15, 2007 01:57 PMall mixed up, don't know what to do.
Posted by: Shawn at May 15, 2007 09:23 PMNice taste. You a fan of Linkin Park by any chance? If not, you should be. I just got their new album, Minutes to Midnight. It kicks some major butt. Seriously.
Posted by: Brad at May 16, 2007 11:11 AMNot heard much about these guys until you posted this, but the guy touring with them is very intriguing to me. Have you heard him before? I first heard of Matisyahu maybe a year or so ago from a Jimmy Kimmel clip that was emailed to me and the stuff sounds very good.
Posted by: keith at May 16, 2007 02:58 PMBrad, I'm a huge fan on LP! I've been using their music in sermons for years.
Posted by: anthony Bradley at May 16, 2007 04:59 PMAhhh, Keith, you haven't heard of 311? New to Matisyahu? How is that?
I went to my first 311 concert 4 or 5 years ago and I've written about Matisyahu before (there was so much hype about him but it's died down some now)
Posted by: anthony Bradley at May 16, 2007 05:02 PMSWEET. Then you would KILL to hear their new album! Seriously, they have been listening to a lot of U2 ("Shadow of the Day" actually pulls a few melodies and "feels" from "With or Without You"), and their bassist became a Christian since the last album. There are some KILLER messages in "Minutes to Midnight" (which is itself supposedly an allusion to the last days). They grew up a lot and have changed their sound considerably. Seriously, I can't stop listening to it.
And Matisyahu is also insane. So much good music being talked about... You guys are like a breath of fresh air...
