Brutha Rob Hatch Makes The Paper

Rob Hatch is now famous with his picture in the paper as he teaches us all how to save money with rising fuel costs. He'll take you to it here.

He's actually the lead in the story:

When he bought bicycles for his children 18 months ago, Rob Hatch also got a mountain bike as a vehicle to kick-start his own fitness program.

"I started biking to work one day a week," said the Chattanooga man, 36, a project manager at UnumProvident. "It’s about 10 miles round trip from where I live in Brainerd, and it takes me about 20 minutes."

He said his home-to-office bike rides recently increased to three times a week.

"At first, they were for exercise more than anything else," he said.

"But now there is a financial side to it, too. With the rise in gas prices, there’s more of an incentive to ride my bike to work."

Mr. Hatch is among many local residents responding to climbing fuel costs by launching lifestyle changes that help to curb consumption.
